Never having had a sharply defined national identity in the age of 19th century hardware, Canadians are enjoying a very great advantage of flexibility in the electric age. It is easy for them to adopt a wide range of roles in many parts of the world, without any sense of endangering or flawing their national character. An Englishman, a Frenchman, or an American, has an identity deeply embedded in comment to old hardware. Compared to these new realities, the old railway dream belongs to Disneyland. It may well be for this reason that it will become top entertainment.
