As man succeeds in translating his central nervous system into electronic circuitry, he stands on the threshold of outering his consciousness into the computer. Consciousness, as we have discussed in a previous chapter, may be thought of as a projection to the outside of an inner synesthesia, corresponding generally with that ancient definition of common sense.
