A dictionary of Marshall McLuhan’s quotations

Through the Vanishing Point (Space in Poetry and Painting—Harper & Row) is another stage in the "new criticism." Whereas the new criticism had discovered multi-semantic levels, Parker and I deal with the multi-levels of sensory space in poetry and painting. In fact, it is concerned with the training of the whole sensorium, i.e. with the different kinds of space created by each of our senses. Psychologists have never recognized anything but the inputs, i.e. they are "flat earthers."
