[At age 18] Professor Wright mentioned one thing in his lecture, the significance of which he was not himself fully aware. He said esthetic enjoyment of the great masters is empathetical emotion that can be felt only by those who had studied the sphere. Hard work and often specialized hard work must precede the reward.
