…English Canada today is still Victorian in its “serious” culture and contemporary only insofar as it absorbs unconsciously the entertainment of the American mass-media. But the French in Canada are not handicapped by the same measure of culture-lag which in English Canada creates acute indigestion in the presence of the art and thought of as a technological world.
