I have published four serious and completely different types of books during this year. Have just completed [Take Today] The Executive as Dropout: The Future of the Human Organization. This latter is unlike anything I have written before and has been done in collaboration with an electric engineer. My procedure is not to express myself on any subject but to go where the hangups are, then to do a structural analysis of causes. Understanding is not a point of view. Value judgments that precede understanding create smog. Cliché to Archetype is an account of the poetic process as it works in our corporate daily lives. Preliterate man does not have an unconscious. Electronic man is now living with his subliminal life merged with his consciousness. The resulting loss of private and individual direction creates a goalless world: all tooled up and no place to go.
