A dictionary of Marshall McLuhan’s quotations

Many people imagine that I am promoting a point of view. However, understanding is not a point of view, and requires a multi-dimensional approach, a "swarming over" every situation. Understanding is achieved through continuing dialogue on current problems, not "long debate" on “dead" issues. Debate packages knowledge for display, whereas dialogue organizes ignorance for discovery.
