Radio, cinema, and TV have each of them had their individual impact on the remnants of book-culture, changing the scope of poetry and the novel, reviving many aspects of oral tradition and altering human sensibility to its roots. If thirty years ago Mr. T. S. Eliot could modestly suggest that the internal combustion engine had modified the general ear for speech and rhythm, it is now obvious that the entire learning process has been changed by allied development.
