There's a sign hanging on a Toronto junkyard which reads, “help beautify junkyards, throw something lovely away today.” And this kind of bizarre, would-be cynical and paradoxical, sort of remark has, I think, some of the characteristics of a McLuhanism. Which consists perhaps simply in tying an unexpected circuit...things that don't ordinarily get off a simple, a single line, or a single plane; it's a form of circuitry.
