A dictionary of Marshall McLuhan’s quotations

My dream is to start a mag. Not for Canadians by Canadians. But something serious. Not an imitation of Sewanee Review or P.R. [Partisan Review]. Something with a strongly practical bias in the direction of estimating and prescribing detailed procedures in school and college plus a department persistently focussed o0n the hatred being manifest everywhere at every level at present. Obviously not a mag to be begun at once without much luck. But one which might function well in Toronto by reason of the very hostility of the environment. It wouldn’t be tempted to be complacent. It would, in Toronto, be free from the need to play ball with any existing U.S. cliques. No publishing or other rackets to sidestep. Must talk to you about it soon.
