We now can foresee the consequences of any kind of situation so fully that it is no longer necessary to have the experience at all. We are inclined to regard such experience as merely a trap for the unwary, or for somnambulists. I would suggest that the power to foresee and to forestall in this way is inevitable in the electronic age. At the present phase of the electronic age we are merely percussed by the latest outering of our senses in the TV image – to wit our sense of touch.
