Mr. Steiner gives a very adequate rendering of the role he gratuitously assigns to me while commenting on myself. He is a very good example of the literary type of person who feels the need to express a point of view, at all costs. This point of view they associate with precision and responsibility. What they invariably fail to notice is the structural form of situations. Such form is quite independent of point of view. This is a precise, structural statement of fact which any merely literary person would regard as egotistical, wild, and imprecise.
